Description of key information

Physico-chemical testings on zirconium hydride (ZrH2) have demonstarted that the substance does not hydrolyse in water and is insoluble (<0.08 mgZr/L). Based on these results, it has been concluded that the organisms in the water column will not be exposed to the substance hence it can be extrapolate that the aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur.

According this rationale, short -term toxicity on species like algae, aquatic invertebrates (e.g. Daphnia magna) have been waived in the frame of the 1 -10 dossier preparration.
