Specific details on test material used for the study:
100 g of the test substance, Cetyl Betaine Cola®Teric CDB (Lot 56587D17) was placed in an oven at 110°C for 5-6 hours to drive off the water. A 2 g sample of ‘dehydrated’ cetyl betaine was measured at 92.4% Solids using a pan drying method at 110°C for 1 hour.

Description of key information

Cetyl Betaine is a surfactant containing both water soluble and oil soluble portions within its structure. It is known to be water soluble and partially soluble in n-octanol. This test has confirmed that this substance is n-octonol soluble at a level of 45.6% ± 0.7%.

The partition coefficient has been shown to be

Pow = 1.02

Log Pow = -0.0086
