Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)

Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Source and lot/batch No.of test material: 7-7-B
- Expiration date of the lot/batch: August 1, 1999

STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: at room temperature at about 20 °C
Key result
Boiling pt.:
> 400 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 013 mBar
Remarks on result:
not determinable

Using termal analysis, no endothermic peaks were detected in the temperature range between 28 °C and 400 °C from which boiling could be deduced.

Endothermic heat effects occured at about 30 °C, exothermic heat effects at 200 °C and 340 °C. The endothermic heat effect at about 30 °C could be a reation resulting from the melting of the test article.

After the measurement the sample lost about 30 % of its mass and the test article was a brown coloured melt.

Conclusions:
Salacos 168 ARV, Dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate/stearate/rosinate does not boil under ambient conditions up to temperatures of 400 °C.
Executive summary:

Salacos 168 ARV, Dipentaerythrityl hexahydroxystearate/stearate/rosinate does not boil under ambient conditions up to temperatures of 400 °C.
