Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Part II, Test Series A to H
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: SADT
Key result
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
70 °C
Remarks on result:
other: SADT
Conclusions:
The self accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) of the test item was determined to be 70 °C.
Executive summary:

The SADT (self accelerating decomposition temperature) of the test substance was examined in a study, performed according to the "UN - Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - manual of Tests and Criteria" UN - TEST: H.4. Measurements were done with Dewar vessel without coating while the water bath temperature was kept constant. Under the test conditions the decomposition temperature of the test substance was determined to be 70 °C.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Justification for type of information:
No boiling point was determined as results of a SADT (self-accelerating decomposition temperature) with the test substance tert-butyl peracetate (TBPA) performed according to UN-Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (UN-Test H.4), showed that TBPA start to decompose at 70 °C (before the boiling point is reached).

Description of key information

No boiling point was determined as results of a SADT (self accelerating decomposition temperature) with the test substance tert-butyl peracetate (TBPA) performed according to UN-Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (UN-Test H.4), showed that TBPA start to decompose at 70 °C (before the boiling point is reached).
