Conclusion on classification

The lowest acute L(E)C50 is 54 mg/L (96 h LC50 – fish. The algal study provided a 72 hour ErC50 of 54 mg/L together with a corresponding NOEC of 32 mg/L. 

 

The active substance, 2-[[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]methylamino]ethanol (CAS 2212-32-0)  does not have potential to bioaccumulate and is not readily biodegradable. Consequently, since direct environmental exposure is not anticipated given the intended uses, the active substance will not present environmental concentrations high enough to cause environmental effects. 

 

Under the harmonised classification (Annex VI) of the ‘Classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) Regulation (1272/2008)’ 2-[[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]methylamino]ethanol (CAS 2212-32-0) is ‘Not Classified’ for chronic aquatic toxicity.
