Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
8 August - 11 August 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
429 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6
Remarks on result:
other: estimated from results of the preliminary test
Details on results:
With increasing levels of test item, solutions with increasing viscosity are obtained, finally resulting in a gel. Due to the formation of a gel neither method (shake flask, column elution) can be carried out. The investigation is stopped after the preliminary test and the water solubility approximated based on the results of the preliminary test.

Results of test:

Experiment  Water (g)  Weighed sample (mg)  Result
 A  2.0  10.03  clear solution
 B  2.0  30.89  clear solution
 C  2.0  101.37  clear solution
 D  2.0  307.62  clear solution
 E  2.0  703.28  clear solution; slightly viscous
 F  2.0  1015.24  clear solution; viscous
 G  2.0  1502.55  clear gel

With 1.503 g of test item being mixed into 2 g of water, a gel with a total weight of 3.503 g has been formed. This is equivalent to 42.9 %w/w of test item in solution/gel. The water solubility is approximated to 429 g/L

The pH value of a 5% solution of the test item in water was 6.0 at 20 °C.

Conclusions:
The water solubility is approximately 429 g/L.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item was determined accoring to OECD TG 105 (flask method). Due to the formation of a gel, the investigation was stopped after the preliminary test and the water solubility was approximated to 429 g/L.
