Description of key information

Biodegradation in water:

Biodegradability of test chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 83949-60-4) was estimated by using OECD QSAR tool box v3.4 by considering five closest read across chemical log Kow as primary descriptor. Percent biodegradation of the test chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-)was estimated to be 2.25% by considering BOD as parameter and Microorganism as inoculum in 28 days. On the basis of percent degradability value it can be concluded that test chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-)is not readily biodegradable.

Additional information

Biodegradation in water:

Two different predicted data studies for target chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 83949-60-4) have been done and one experimental study for its structurally similar read across chemical was reviewed for biodegradation endpoint and their results are summarized below.

In first predicted data study the biodegradability of test chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no.

Another predicted data study was done by using Estimation Programs Interface Suite (EPI suite, 2018) to estimate the biodegradation potential of the test compound Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 83949-60-4) in the presence of mixed populations of environmental microorganisms. The biodegradability of the substance was calculated using seven different models such as Linear Model, Non-Linear Model, Ultimate Biodegradation Timeframe, Primary Biodegradation Timeframe, MITI Linear Model, MITI Non-Linear Model and Anaerobic Model (called Biowin 1-7, respectively) of the BIOWIN v4.10 software. The results indicate that chemical  Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) is expected to be not readily biodegradable.

Next study was experimental study done from authoritative database (J check, 2017) in this study the read across chemical 2,2'-[(3,3'-dichlorobiphenyl-4,4'-diyl)didiazene-2,1-diyl]bis(3-oxo-N-phenylbutanamide) (CAS no. 6358-85-6) was subjected to biodegradation test by taking activated sludge as inoculums at 30 mg/L concentration. Biodegradation was analysed by using BOD parameter .The initial concentration of read across chemical used was 100 mg/L. The test chemical 2,2'-[(3,3'-dichlorobiphenyl-4,4'-diyl)didiazene-2,1-diyl]bis(3-oxo-N-phenylbutanamide) showed 0 % biodegradability by BOD parameter by using activated sludge as inoculums in 14 days. On the basis of percent biodegradability it is concluded that read across chemical 2,2'-[(3,3'-dichlorobiphenyl-4,4'-diyl)didiazene-2,1-diyl]bis(3-oxo-N-phenylbutanamide)is not readily biodegradable.

On the basis of all the studies mentioned above it can be concluded that test chemical Lithium bis[2-[(4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)azo]benzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 83949-60-4) is not readily biodegradable.
