Description of key information

Flammability: flammable liquid

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

The flammability of liquids is assessed on the basis of flash point.

There is no indication on the basis of structure and experience in handling and use that the substance is pyrophoric (flammable in contact with air) or flammable in contact with water.

Therefore, in accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, there is no need to conduct further flammability testing.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is classified as a Flammable Liquid Cat. 3, H226 (Flammable Liquid and Vapour) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. This is on the basis of a measured flash point of 43.5°C at 1013 hPa and a boiling point of 176°C.
