Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance

The test material was observed to be a dark brown extremely viscous liquid.

Melting/freezing point

The pour point of the test item was determined to be 74 ± 3 °C (347 ± 3 K) (OECD 102 and EU Method A.1).

Boiling point

The test item was determined by differential scanning calorimetry to decompose from approximately 200 °C (473 K) at 101 kPa (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).

Relative density

The density of the test item was determined to be 951 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C using a gas comparison pycnometer and the relative density was reported as 0.951 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).

Granulometry

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.

Vapour pressure

The vapour pressure of the test item was determined by the balance method to be 0.252 Pa at 25 °C (298 K), 1.03 Pa at 80°C (353 K) and 8.87 Pa at 132°C (405 K) (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4).

Partition coefficient

The partition coefficient of the test item was determined to be greater than 1.0 x 10E10 with Log10 Pow > 10.0 using the HPLC method (OECD 117 and EU Method A.8).

Water solubility

Water solubility of the test item was determined to be 1.24 x 10E-03 gC/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C and a nominal loading rate of 0.1 g/L using the flask method (OECD 105 and EU Method A.6).

Surface tension

The surface tension of solutions prepared at nominally 90 % saturation of test item in water was determined to be 67.5 ± 0.5 mN/m at 20.5 ± 0.5 °C using the ring method. The substance was not considered to be surface active (OECD 115 and EU Method A.5).

Flash point

The flash point of the test item was determined to be 213 ± 2 °C using the closed cup equilibrium method (EU Method A.9).

Auto–ignition temperature

The test item was determined to have an autoignition temperature of 468 ± 5 °C at 100.8 to 101.1 kPa (EU Method A.15).

Flammability

The test item is a viscous liquid and, in line with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance (Version 6.0; July 2017), relevant properties for classification of the substance as flammable are the determined flash point and boiling point. Further experimental investigation of flammability is therefore not required.

Explosive properties

The result for explosive properties was predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item (EU Method A.14).

Oxidising properties

The result for oxidising properties was predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item (EU Method A.21).
