TEST CONCENTRATIONS
Range finding study
- Test concentrations: A pretest was carried out at 1, 3, 10, 30, 100 mg/L
- Results used to determine the conditions for the definitive study: In the pretest the approximate LC50 was determined to be 4 ppm.

Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
No mortality was observed with the test concentrations 1.0, 1.78 and 3.2 mg/L. While 10, 30, 90 and 100 % mortality was recorded at the test concentrations 5.6, 10.0, 17.8 and 32 mg/L, respectively.
Reported statistics and error estimates:
LC50 values and confidence limit are calculated with the Probit- Method (according to E. Weber, Grundriss der biologischen Statistik).

Conclusions:
The 96 h LC50 was calculated to be 10.8 mg/L.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to evaluate the short term toxicity potential of FAT 31016/I to fish. The study was performed in accordance with the OECD Test guideline No. 203 (Oct. 1980). Based on the results obtained in the pretest the test concentrations were chosen as follows: 1,0; 1,78; 3,2; 5,6; 10; 17,8; 32 mg/L and control. 10 fish each were exposed at each concentration and observed for 96 hours. No mortality was observed with the test concentrations 1.0, 1.78 and 3.2 mg/L. While 10, 30, 90 and 100 % mortality was recorded at the test concentrations 5.6, 10.0, 17.8 and 32 mg/L, respectively. Based on the findings of this study, the LC50 was calculated to be 10.8 mg/L.

Description of key information

The LC50 to fish was determined to be 10.8 mg/L.
