Description of key information

The h-CLAT test result is clearly positive and no further investigation is deemed necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (sensitising)
Additional information:

Tris (ethyl acetoacetato-O1’,O3) aluminium was tested for its skin sensitisation potential by quantifying changes in the expression level of the two cell surface markers CD86 and CD54 in the THP-1 cells, according to the h-CLAT test protocol, OECD TG 442E. Since the majority result of the three individual runs is positive, the end result of this h-CLAT is considered as “positive”. Tris (ethyl acetoacetato-O1’,O3) aluminium is a potential skin sensitiser.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Tris(ethyl acetoacetato-O1',O3)aluminium is skin sensitiser and it is classified H317 according to the CLP Regulation (EC.n.1272/2008). For justification see the results of available studies.
