Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The distribution between the organic phase of soil or sediments and the pore water was estimated using a KOCWIN v 2.00. The soil adsorption coefficient of AQ was estimated to be 5012 L/kg - Kow method (Log Koc = 3.700 for anthraquinone) (Ekotoxikologické centrum Bratislava, s.r.o., 2010).

The adsorption coefficient of Anthraquinone on soil and on sewage sludge was also estimated using the HPLC method with reference compounds in GLP study (Čížek K., Ph.D., 2010). The test was performed according to the Method C.19 Estimation of the adsorption coefficient (KOC) on soil and sewage sludge using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Published in O.J.L 142, 2008.

Estimation of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) on soil and sewage sludge is log Kocsoil= 3.0 ± 0.4 at pH = 6.2 and 25°C and log Kocsludge= 3.2 ± 0.8 at pH = 6.2 and 25°C (Čížek K., Ph.D., 2010).

There are no experimental data on volatilisation for anthraquinone.

The Henry’s Law Constant estimated with HENRYWIN v3.2 for anthraquinone has been calculated to be 3.22E-004 Pa m³/mol (Bond method) at 25°C (Ekotoxikologické centrum Bratislava, s.r.o., 2010).

Estimation using the latest version of HENRYWIN v. 3.20 via VP/WSol (vapour pressure VP = 1.16E-007 mm Hg /water solubility WSol = 0.0746 mg/L) gave the result 4.317E-002 Pa m3/mol at 25°C (Ekotoxikologické centrum Bratislava, s.r.o., 2011).

Estimated data from Epiweb 4.0 (EPI SuiteTM) for volatilization from water considering Henry LC: 2.35E-008 atm m3/mol - Henry experimental database are (Ekotoxikologické centrum Bratislava, s.r.o., 2010):

Half-Life from Model River: 3.595E+004 hours (1498 days)

Half-Life from Model Lake: 3.923E+005 hours (1.635E+004 days)

The distribution of anthraquinone in water-air was estimated using Fugacity Model Level III.

The estimated persistence time is 1.81e+003 hours. The main target compartment of AQ is soil with 85.3 % (Ekotoxikologické centrum Bratislava, s.r.o., 2010).
