The density of the liquid resin was determined by pycnometry as prescribed in e.g. ASTM 1475-98.

A stainless steel pycnometer (Soltec Density cup S125364, 100 cm3) is preferred for light-sensitive resins. The mass of the calibrated pycnometer was determined using an analytical balance (OHAUS E0D 120). The vessel was subsequently filled with 100 cm3 of resin and the mass was again determined in order to calculate the density of the liquid. The measurements were conducted at 23 °C.
