Description of key information

Boiling point (HMDTMP-xK): HMDTMP salt will undergo thermal decomposition without boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to test the boiling point of the substance was waived because the substance decomposes without boiling. This statement is supported by a recent, reliable DSC test which demonstrates that the anhydrous form of the acid undergo thermal decomposition at approximately 200°C. Salts would be expected to undergo thermal decomposition. Boiling point values of ~100°C, 105 - 108°C and >100°C with decomposition temperature of 200°C after evaporation of water was reported for the substance in available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned.
