Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Test Guideline 114 (Viscosity of Liquids)
Deviations:

Type of method:
rotational viscometer (dynamic)
Standard covering the apparatus used:
The viscosity was measured using a Brookfield Digital Viscometer, Model LVDV-I+, and the small sample adapter with spindle SC4 18. The performance of the viscometer was checked using a standard oil, B200 batch 15601 supplied by Brookfield. The certified viscosity was 195.6 mPa.s at 25°C. The tolerance for the viscometer was ±5 %.

Additional information

The viscosity of the test material was investigated in a study which was performed under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline OECD 114.The study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The dynamic viscosity was measured using a Brookfield Digital Viscometer. The test item was tested at 20°C and 40°C. The kinematic viscosity is calculated from the mean dynamic viscosity measured at each temperature:

Kinematic viscosity at 20 degrees Celsius: 110.7 mm2/s

Kinematic viscosity at 40 degrees Celsius: 44.1 mm2/s
