Surface Tension of Water: 72.8 mN/m at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C

Calibration Factor: The calibration factor was calculated to be: 72.8 mN/m73.1 mN/m=0.996

Remark: The test item which lowers the surface tension of the medium in which it is dissolved, and/or the interfacial tension with other phases, and, accordingly, is positively adsorbed at the liquid/vapour and/or at other interfaces - is a surface active test item.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item (1 g/L) was determined to be: 71.9 mN/m at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.
Executive summary:

The purpose of the study was to determine the surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item (1 g/L) by means of a ring tensiometer according to OECD 115 guideline and A.5 method following GLP. The surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item (1 g/L) was determined to be: 71.9 mN/m at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.
