Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Conclusions:
The test substance 1-Benzyl-3-carbamoylpyridiniumchlorid is considered as not autoflammable under the test conditions.
Executive summary:

The relative self ignition temperature of 1-Benzyl-3-carbamoyl-pyridnium, chloride was investigated according to EU Method A.16 "Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids".

The test substance was placed into a stainless steel wire mesh cube (0.045 mm mesh openings, edge length 20 mm) and heated in a temperature-programmed laboratory oven. The temperature of the test item was monitored by means of a thermoelement which was placed in the centre of the cube. Oven temperature monitoring was done by using the oven's PT100 thermometer. Both actual temperatures were recorded every 5 minutes while the temperature of the oven was increased to 400 °C with a heating rate of approx. 0.5 K/min. Data analysis was done by comparison of oven temperature with temperature of the test sample. According to the guideline, a substance ignites, when the thermocouple of the sample shows a very sharp temperature rise above the oven temperature.

Since no sharp rise of the test substance temperature and no significant difference between the temperature of the test substance and the oven temperature could be observed, the sample is considered as not autoflammable according to EU Method A.16 "Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids".
