L-histidine was determined to be rapidly biodegradable based on the study of Mueller and Neumann (1981), an older determination of the biodegradation potential according to the Offhaus method.

Hydrolysis is not a relevant pathway due to the lack of hydrolysable groups.

Bioaccumulation of L-histidine can be excluded based on its low log Kow of -3.32.

Likewise, from this low log Kow value, a low tendency to bind to soil can be predicted.
