Additional information

In accordance with the ECHA Guidance R.10 (May 2008), the derivation of PNECs is required for the chemical safety assessment (CSA) of substances manufactured/imported/used in quantities from 10 t/a onwards. Thus, no PNECs have been derived for the REACH registration of Zirconium disilicide in the tonnage band 1-10 t/a (REACH Annex VII).

Conclusion on classification

The water solubility of the substance analysed under the conditions of the T/D test (OECD Series on Testing and Assessment No. 29) was below the detection limit (method detection limit 0.04 µg/mL). Based on the results, Zirconium disilicide can be considered as highly insoluble in water. Thus, aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur and no classification is warranted.
