Justification for classification or non-classification
According to the CLP Regulation (EC1272/2008), an oxidising solid shall be classified in one of the three categories for this class using UN RTDG test O.1 (Part III, sub-section 34.4.1 of UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, the Manual of Tests and Criteria). But it is necessary to note that the full test does not need to be conducted for solids if the preliminary test clearly indicates that the test substance has oxidising properties, according to the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006).
The study was performed to obtain an indication of the oxidizing properties of the test substance according to the EEC-directive 84/449 method A-17. Only the preliminary test was conducted but it evidenced no oxidizing properties, as the substance test substance did not burn but smouldered and react less vigorously as the reference mixture.
