Conclusion on classification

Acute (short-term) aquatic hazard

As the acute E(L)C50 values are >1 mg/L, the substance does not need to be classified for this hazard according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).

 

Chronic (long-term) aquatic hazard

As there are chronic values available for 3 trophic levels, the chronic classification has to be determined only based on CLP Table 4.1.0 (b) (ii), as the substance is readily biodegradable. As the lowest value is >0.1 but <= 1, the substance needs to be classified in Category 3 for this hazard.

 

It is therefore concluded that based on the currently available data, the substance needs to be classified as Aquatic Chronic Cat. 3 (H412: Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects).
