Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
24 November 2016 to 24 April 2017
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
no analytical determination of the water solubility was possible, therefore the result is based on visual observations
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
see below
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
see below
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The standard EC method A6 and OECD method 105 was not applicable to the substance due to the high indeterminable saturation levels produced. It was therefore not possible to prepare samples at five times the saturation level as recommended in the guidelines. No analysis could be performed for the main test due to the high solubility producing unfilterable mixtures. Therefore the water solubility was determined based on visual inspection.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the substance is 55-60%
Executive summary:

In a test using the flask method, water was added to increasing amounts of the substance. The increasing concentrations were inspected visually to assess solubility. The water solubility was between 55 and 60%. Analytical determination of the concentrations was not possible.

Description of key information

In a test using the flask method, water was added to increasing amounts of the substance. The increasing concentrations were inspected visually to assess solubility. The water solubility was between 55 and 60%. Analytical determination of the concentrations was not possible.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
10 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

For risk assessment the water solubility will be set at 1E05 mg/L(see value above), which is the maximum value as validated in the EUSES program
