Additional information

The toxicity of zinc bis dimethyldithiocarbamate (CAS No. 137-30-4) to terrestrial plants was investigated by Porch and Krueger (2006a, 2006b). Both tests were conducted according to the EPA OPP 122-1 Guideline (Terrestrial Plant Toxicity Tier I), investigating the effect of this substance in seedling emergence and vegetative vigour respectively, under GLP conditions. No significant adverse effects were observed in any test after 21 days exposure at a concentration of 6.89 kg a.i./ha (NOEC).

Long-term toxicity testing is not deemed necessary considering the lack of effects in short-term toxicity studies with plants over 21 days and the rapid biodegradation in the soil compartment with a dissipation half-life below 2 days (aerobic conditions) and of 14 days under anaerobic conditions.
