The photolysis of zinc bis dimethyldithiocarbamate (CAS No. 137-30-4) in water was investigated by Heasook (1995). This test was performed according to US EPA Guideline, Subdivision N161-2, Photodegradation Studies in Water (1988), under GLP conditions. Photolysis of14C-labeled Ziram was investigated in a pH 9 buffered solution as this substance is known to be more stable under alkaline conditions. Solution samples were collected and analyzed up to 24 hours from test initiation and the parent compound half-life was determined to be 8.66 hours.

 

An additional study is available for this endpoint (Carpenter, 1985). However, due to methodological deficiencies, it is not further considered for assessment.
