EC number: 701-197-2 | CAS number: -
The phototransformation in air and hydrolysis potential of the test substance was not investigated experimentally, however, this relevant endpoint can be covered by the usage of the scientifically accepted prediction computer software AOPWIN v1.92 and HYDROWIN v2.00 (EPIWIN programs by US-EPA) (Chemservice S.A., 2012).
The gas-phase reaction constants and half-lifes in the atmosphere predicted by AOPWIN v1.92 differ only a little depending on chlorine and its appearance. With chlorine the overall OH rate constant is 57.52E-12 cm³/molecules-sec with an half-life of 2.23 hours, whereas without chlorine the rate constant is predicted as 54.44E-12 cm³/molecules-sec with a half-life of 2.36 hours, assuming a 12 h day with an OH rate of 1.5E6 OH/cm³ and 25 °C. Phototransformation in water and soil is considered as not relevant for the test substance under REACH.
Epoxides were detected as hydrolysable substance class by HYDROWIN v2.00 with half-lifes of ~ 44 years and ~ 29 years for the main component with and without chlorine, respectively, at 25 °C and pH 7.
