Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Patty's: Relative density at 20°C = 1.023
Handbook of Filler, Extenders and Diluents: Density at 20°C = 1.22 g/cm^3, corresponding to a relative density of 1.22
Calculation (ACD Labs software v9.1): Density = 1.25 ± 0.06 g/cm^3, corresponding to a relative density of 1.25

Additional information

In Patty's Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology a relative density at 20°C of 1.023 is given for the test substance (Patty's Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology, 3erd Ed, Hine et al., 1981), which has been taken as key value. Further, in the Handbook of Filler, Extenders, and Diluents a density of 1.22 g/cm3 at 20 °C is reported (Handbook of Filler, Extenders, and Diluents, Ash, 2.nd Edition, 2007), which corresponds to a relative density of 1.22. The density has also been calculated with the ACD Labs software v9.1, resulting in a density of 1.25± 0.06 g/cm3, corresponding to a relative density of 1.25.

Although for the calculated value no temperature is given, these two further results confirm the key value, as there is no significant difference between the values.
