Description of key information

Auto ignition temperature : 510°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
510 °C

Additional information

A GLP and guideline study (with minor deviations) is available. The measured auto ignition temperatures from all these experiments shwoed a great variability : 56°C instead of the maximum 20°C required by the standard. For safety reasons, the lowest auto ignition temperature, 510°C, is chosen as the auto ignition temperature of benzyltoluene.
