Description of key information

Reliable short-term toxicity studies on fish and daphnia (according to the OECG Test Guidelines 203 and 202, respectively) as well as a study on toxicity to algae (OECD TG 201) were performed on 3,3,5-TRIMETHYLCYCLOHEXYL ACRYLATE (CAS 86178-38-3.

In an acute Danio rerio toxicity study, fish were exposed for 96h under semi-static conditions. The LC50 was determined to be 1.90 mg/L.

In an acute Daphnia magna toxicity study, cladocerans were exposed for 48h under semi-static conditions. The EC50 based on mobility was determined to be 14.43 mg/L.

In a Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata toxicity study, algae were exposed for 72h under static conditions. The EC50 based on growth rate was determined to be greater than 0.59 mg/L and the EC10 based on the same parameter was equal to 0.43 mg/L.
