Description of key information

The Log Koc of n-butyl-4,4 -bis(tert-butylperoxy)valerate has been determined to be 3.86 at 30°C. Therefore, the substance can be considered as not highly adsorptive indicating that soil and sediment are not expected to be the main target compartments for exposure assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
7 244.4

Additional information

The adsorption/desorption behaviour of n-butyl-4,4 -bis(tert-butylperoxy)valerate on soil and sewage sludge was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 121 and GLP requirements (Chastenet, 2017).

The test met the validity criteria. The Log Koc of the test item has been determined to be 3.86 at 30°C.
