Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model and falling into its applicability domain, with adequate and reliable documentation / justification
Justification for type of information:
QSAR
Principles of method if other than guideline:
QSAR: Acute aquatic toxicity on fish of the target chemical was estimated by using three predictors: ACD/Percepta, ECOSAR and Vega. The three predictors were employed in order to assess and combine the predictions and thus enhance the reliability of the final prediction. In the combined assessment only reliable predictions are to be taken into account.

Conclusions:
Acute aquatic toxicity on fish of the target chemical was estimated by using three predictors: ACD/Percepta, ECOSAR and Vega. The three predictors were employed in order to assess and combine the predictions and thus enhance the reliability of the final prediction. In the combined assessment only reliable predictions are to be taken into account.
In the case of the target Indole, the three predictors provided reliable predictions of different level of reliability (moderate ACD/Percepta, borderline ECOSAR, and high Vega). In particular, ACD/Percepta provided a moderately reliable LC50 prediction equal to 20 mg/L, ECOSAR provided a borderline reliable LC50 equal to 2.34 mg/L and Vega provided a highly reliable LC50 equal to 19.76 mg/L. The in silico assessment of acute aquatic toxicity on Daphnia for the target Indole was based on Vega prediction, which provided the most reliable 96h-LC50 prediction equal to 19.76 mg/L (Pimephales promelas). The prediction was assessed as high reliable.

It should not be categorised as Aquatic toxic acut (limit 1 mg/l).

It is a readily biodegradable substance. Its log kow is 2.24. It should not be categorised as aquatic toxic chronic.
