The empty sample vial was weighed and subsequently filled to approximately three-quarters full with the test substance. The contents were compacted by lightly jarring the vial on the bench surface. Reweighing yielded a net sample weight of the test substance of 3.0616 g. The sample vial was then inserted into the sample chamber, the lid tightly affixed, and the measurement procedure in the instrument started. The measurement cycle comprised five individual measurements.
