Description of key information
The corrected surface tension of an aqueous solution at 90% of IOA saturation (20.0 °C) is 73.1 mN/m (OECD 115). IOA is not considered a surface active material.

The surface tension test of an aqueous solution of IOA was determined according to OECD TG 115 (harmonized ring method) and EEC Directive 92/69 EEC, A.5. Two overnight stirred, saturated solutions were diluted to 90% of saturation, and transferred to measurement vessels. Five measurements were made at 17-21 minutes to show equilibration. The arithmetic mean of the equilibrated values was calibrated against a water standard and corrected using Harkins-Jordan values. This study was conducted in accordance with OECD TG 115 and is compliant with GLP standards. Therefore this study is classified as reliable without restrictions.
