Description of key information

The test item is not rapidely biodegradable. Adequate chronic toxicity data are available for one trophic level and adequate acute toxicity data are available for 3 trophic levels. Classification is therefore investigated according to both rationales and established according to the most stringent outcome:

a) Non-rapidly degradable substances for which there are adequate chronic toxicity data available:

--> Not classified when Chronic NOEC or ECx (for algae or other aquatic plants) > 1 mg/l. This is the case with NOErC of 10 mg/L in algae test.

b) Non-rapidly degradable substances for which adequate chronic toxicity data are not available

--> Not classified when 96 hr ErC50 (for algae or other aquatic plants) > 100 mg/l. This is the case with EC50 and LC50 > 100 mg/L in fish, Daphnia and algae tests.

In both cases, the test item is not classified for Aquatic Hazard.
