Additional information

Beta-alanine is predicted to be photodegraded by reaction with hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere with a half-life of approximately 12 hours (SRC AopWin v1.92). Thus it is susceptible to indirect photodegradation. in air. No data are available on the hydrolytic stability of beta-alanine. Due to the readily biodegradability (BOD=87%, OECD 301) hydrolysis testing is not required under REACh.
