Description of key information

21-d NOEC(reproduction) in Daphnia magna): 1.1 mg/L (MoE, 1998)
21-d NOEC(reproduction) in Daphnia magna): 2.6 mg/L (Springborn, 1995)
The geometric mean of the two NOECs is carried forward for the risk assessment: 1.69 mg/L

Additional information

There is no data on the chronic toxicity of tert- BMA available. However, for the structurally related nBMA (CAS: 97-88-1) two 21-d reproduction tests, using Daphnia magna, exist. In one study the 21 d EC50 for Daphnia magna was determined to be 6.59 mg/L, in the second study > 8.4 mg/L.

Both are reporting similar NOECs: 1.1 mg/L (MoE, 1998) and 2.6 mg/L (Springborn, 1995).

The geometric mean of the two NOAECs is carried forward for the risk assessment: 1.69 mg/
