Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2013
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Date of inspection 2012-07-10; Date of signature 2012-11-30
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Atm. press.:
102.8 kPa
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
68.5 °C

- The melting temperature of the indium reference standard was determined to be 157.01 °C and within the defined tolerance (156.6 ± 0.5 °C). The DSC was therefore considered acceptable for use.

- Thermograms and thermographic data for determinations 1 and 2 are shown in Figures 3.3 and 3.4 (attached).

Conclusions:
The test material was determined to decompose from approximately 68.5 ± 0.5 (342 ± 0.5 K) at 102.8 kPa. As the test material decomposed, no value for boiling temperature could be determined.

Description of key information

Decomposition took place from approximately 68.5 ± 0.5 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Decomposition temperature equates to 342 ± 0.5 K
