Description of key information

ACUTE TOXICITY TO FISH

Weight of evidence: Guideline TG 203, GLP principles followed. Based on available data from National instititute of technology and evaluation (NITE) test item has Lethal concentration LC50 (96h) of 21 mg/L, tested on the fish: Oryzias latipes.

The result of the study, published in the Journal of Hydrology, is evaluated as LC50 (96h) of 20.8 mg/L and 95% confidence interval of 15.7-29.3mg/L, tested on the fish species Pimephales promelas. To the tested substance was assigned the degree of toxicity according the E.P.A., category C.

AQUATIC INVERTEBRATES

Key study:Based on available data from National instititute of technology and evaluation (NITE) test item has Effective concentration EC50 (48h) of 12 mg/L based on mortality for daphnia magna.

TOXICITY TO AQUATIC ALGAE

Key study: Based on available data from National instititute of technology and evaluation (NITE) test item has Effective concentration EC50 (72h) of 19 mg/L and NOEC (72h) of 2.8mg/L based on growth rate.

TOXICITY TO MICROORGANISMS

Supporting study: According the handbook of Enviromental data on Organic chemicals, the test item has the IC value for microorganisms Nitrosomonas: IC50 of 0.9 mg/L, IC0 of 0.09 mg/L, IC31 of 0.45mg/L and IC66 of 0.61 mg/L.
