Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- not specified
- Conclusions:
- The EC50 (24 hours) was calculated as 401.6 mg/L indicating that the test substance does not pose a hazard to aquatic macroinvertebrates.
- Executive summary:
The acute effects of 2,2,4(or 2,4,4)-trimethylhexanedinitrile on Daphnia magna were investigated by Hüls AG (1988) over a period of 24 hours according to national accepted guidance documents. Five concentrations ranging from 100.0 to 900.0 mg/L were tested. The following enpoint was derived:
EC50 (24 hours): 401 mg/L (CL: 326.6 - 493.7 mg/L)
The study was assessed as "reliable with restrictions".
