The temperature in the crystallisation tube with the test item steadily followed the temperature of the bath in the main test.

No typical effect indicating a phase transition was observed. At the end of the measurement, the test item was liquid and only several small crystals in the liquid were observed.

Conclusions:
The freezing point of the test item is < -35°C at 989 to 986 mBar.
Executive summary:

The freezing temperature was assessed according to OECD 102, using a crystallization tube. The test item was cooled from 20°C to -40°C with a rate of 1°C/min. No phase transition was observed, the test item remained liquid and only several small crystals in the liquid were observed. It is hence concluded that the freezing temperature is < -35°C at 989 to 986 mBar.

Description of key information

For this endpoint two studies are available. A recent experimental study (2016) was performed according to OECD 102. The study showed that the freezing temperature of the test item is < -35°C at 986 to 989 mbar. According to the CRC Handbook (1993) the freezing temperature is -91°C. This result is used as supporting information.
