Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No data on Acid Yellow 049 sodium salt was available, thus a read across approach was followed. In particular available stuides on Acid Yellow 049 acid form and on Similar Substance 01 were used as weight of evidence.

Details on the read across approach are reported in section 13.

Acid Yellow 049 acid form was tested according to an internal method, which is comparable with currently accepted testing procedure: 8 fish were tested at nominal concentrations of 100, 200, 1000 mg/l for up to 48 hours. No mortality was reported (1974).

Similar Substance 01 was tested according to ISO 7346-1: 10 fish were exposed at the nominal concentrations of 1000, 667, 500, 333, 200, 143 mg/l, over a period of 96 hours and the LC50 resulted to be 613 mg/l (nominal) (1994).

In both the experiments the tested concentrations were not analytically determined. However, there were no reasons to suspect that the substances might not be stable over the whole testing period because of their physicochemical properties: both are water soluble, not readily abiotically or biotically degradable. Possible adsorption is expected to be negligible.
