PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: To produce the test concentrations, the test substance was weighed into water, treated for 60 seconds at 8000 rpm with an ultra turrax and afterwards stirred for 24 hours with a magnetic stirrer. To remove undissolved particles, the resulting emulsions were filtered using folded filters of pore size 7-12 um. Considering the heterogeneous composition of the test substance, Water Accommodated Fractions (=WAF) of the test substance were tested.
- Controls: yes, medium blanks

Conclusions:
The acute toxicity (48h-EL50) of Eucalyptus maculata citriodora, ext. towards Daphnia magna is 20 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The acute toxicity of Eucalyptus maculata citriodora, ext. towards Daphnia magna was investigated according to EU Method C2 under GLP. Daphnids were exposed to nominal WAFs of 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 mg/L and were observed for 48 hours. Based on the geometric mean of the 48h-EL0 and 48h-EL100 the 48h-EL50 was found to be 20 mg/L.
