Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The particle size distribution was studied under GLP conditions in several steps: (1) optical microscope analysis, (2) manual sieve analysis, (3) laser diffraction analysis according to ISO 13320:2009, CIPAC MT 187.

The sample was observed to contain agglomerates and lumps of > 2000 µm. The sample was therefore sieved and the laser diffraction analysis was conducted on the fraction of the sample which was < 2000 µm. The results obtained with laser diffraction analysis showed that :

- the Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter of dicerium trisulphide is 1538.78 µm

- d10 is 188.786 µm

- d50 is 728.634 µm

- d90 is 1366.677 µm

- the particle size range of dicerium trisulphide is between 4 µm to 2000 µm and 1.79% (by volume) of the particles are lower than 10 µm.
