Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Two studies, investigating the short-term toxicity to freshwater fish of methyl myristate (CAS 124-10-7), are available. In the key study (Richterich, 1991) according to ISO 7346-1 a LC50 (96h) of 1700 mg/L and a LC0 (96h) of 1000 mg/L was determined for Danio rerio. The supporting study (Hutchinson and Calmbacher, 1977) similar to EPA OPPTS 850.1075 (Freshwater and Saltwater Fish Acute Toxicity Test) estimated LC50 (96h) of > 1000 mg/L and NOEC (96h) = 320 mg/L for Lepomis macrochirus. In conclusion, no toxicological effects on freshwater fish are expected up to the water solubility for methyl myristate (CAS 124-10-7).
