- Conclusions:
- The viscosity of the test item reaction mass of 2,2'-oxybisbutane (DSBE), DIPE, SBA and 2-methylpropan-2-ol (TBA) was calculated as 0.587 ±0.000 mPa * s at 20.0 ±0.2 °C which is the mean of two values. Precision of the value is given as standard deviation of determination.
- Executive summary:
The viscosity of reaction mass of 2,2'-oxybisbutane (DSBE), DIPE, SBA and 2-methylpropan-2-ol (TBA) was determined according to OECD 114 resp. EN ISO 12058-1 (2002).
Using a falling ball viscosimeter, a viscosity of 0.587 ±0.000 mPa * s was measured, this value is the mean of three independent determinations (each consisting of three experiments) with their standard deviation. Good correlation of the two determinations was given (relative standard deviation was 0.02%). All measurements were performed at 20.0 ±0.2 °C.
For our reassurance and information purpose the viscosity was determined from the Rheotest Company under not GLP conditions with 0.584 mPa * s (see supporting study).

Description of key information
The viscosity of the test item “2-propanol and 2-butanol production, distn. residues” was calculated as 0.587 mPa * s at 20.0 ±0.2 °C which is the mean of two values. Precision of the value is given as standard deviation of determination.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Viscosity:
- 0.587 mPa · s (dynamic)
- at the temperature of:
- 20 °C
Additional information
Using a falling ball viscosimeter, a viscosity of 0.587 ±0.000 mPa * s was measured; this value is the mean of three independent determinations (each consisting of three experiments) with their standard deviation. Good correlation of the two determinations was given (relative standard deviation was 0.02%). All measurements were performed at 20.0 ±0.2 °C.
For reassurance and information purpose the viscosity was determined from the Rheotest Company under non-GLP conditions with 0.584 mPa * s at 20.0 °C.
