Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure (substance): 8799 Pa at 25°C
Vapour pressure (silanol hydrolysis product): 0.02 Pa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A vapour pressure of 8799 Pa at 25°C was extrapolated using a temperature-vapour pressure correlation developed from data measured in the range 17 -61°C (DIPPR 2001). The result was found to be in reasonably good agreement with published measured data. It is selected as key study. A vapour pressure of 6637 Pa at 20°C was extrapolated from data measured in the range 37 - 65°C (Haas 1993). Three studies to which reliability could not be assigned gave values in the range 45 - 74 hPa at 20°C. Variations in the vapour pressure may be due to differences in the test method or test substance purity. The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product has been predicted to be 0.02 Pa at 20°C, using a validated QSAR prediction method. The result is considered to be reliable.
