Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Hexachlorocyclopentadiene has been assessed for oxidising properties. The assessment was based on an examination of the structure of the substance, to identify the presence of elements commonly associated with oxidising behaviour. It was found that the substance contains no oxygen and all the chlorine present in the structure is bound only to carbon. Therefore, in line with "Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria", Version 4.1, section 2.13.4.1.1., it can be concluded that the substance will not display any oxidising properties without the need to confirm this experimentally.
