Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid having a melting point <= 160°C

Description of key information

The substance has been published to have a melting point of 140 °C, hence, the study is considered scientifically not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 ‘Specific Rules for Adaptation from Column 1’given in Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), the study for determination of self-ignition temperature is not required for solids, if the substance has a melting point 160 °C. The melting point for Ammonium Hexafluorosilicate has been reported to be 140 °C, hence the study is considered to be scientifically not necessary.
