The freezing point of Lime Oxide was measured according to OECD Guideline No. 102 (method of the freezing temperature) and Method A1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. No freezing was observed for Lime Oxide down to a temperature of - 20.0 °C (253 °K).

For the purposes of environmental exposure assessment, the melting point is required for solids to estimate sub-cooled liquid vapour pressure. Given that no freezing was observed for Lime Oxide down to a temperature of -20 °C, it is assumed that all components of Lime Oxide would be in a liquid form in the environment. Hence the value of -20'C has been assigned to the two assignment entities being used for environmental exposure and risk assessment.
