EC number: 248-573-8 | CAS number: 27614-71-7
The substance is not readily biodegradable. However, since the substance has no cationic properties and based on the PC properties of the substance (extremely low solubility in water and octanol), a low adsorption potential is indicated. Therefore, binding to sewage sludge is unlikely and as a consequence a transfer to the soil compartment is not expected.
Furthermore due to the structural characteristics and the low solubility in water and octanol toxic effects on soil organisms are not expected. This assumption is backed by a study on Eisenia fetida following OECD guideline 207. The animals were exposed to CAS 1328-53-6 for 14 days. The test substance was mixed with artificial soil and a NOEC >= 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight (LC50 > 1000 mg/kg soil dw) was determined (BASF AG 2000).
