Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Testing was conducted on 2010-02-08
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the standard OECD method was not directly applicable due to miscibility of test material with water. That property was therefore demonstrated at the test guideline temperature of 20.0 degrees Centigrade.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
>= 10 - <= 90 other: % w/w
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 11.8 - <= 13.3
Details on results:
The sample concentrations, observations recorded on completion of the 20.0 degree Centigrade equilibration period and solution pH are shown in the table below.

The standard OCED method 105 was not applicable to the test item due to its miscibility with water. Therefore this characteristic of the substance was demonstrated at a range of concentrations at the test guideline test temperature of 20.0 degrees Centigrade.

Conclusions:
The test item was determined to be miscible in all proportions with water at 20.0 ± 0.5 degrees Centigrade

Description of key information

The substance is miscible in all proportions with water at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C (OECD 105).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
100 g/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The standard OECD method was not directly applicable due to complete miscibility of the substance with water. Therefore this characteristic of the substance was demonstrated at a range of concentrations and the guideline test temperature of 20.0 °C. However, the key value for water solubility was determined at 100 g/L at 25 °C as this is the advised maximum value in EUSES.
